description
Belinurus is an extinct genus of Xiphosuran, related to the modern Horse Shoe crab. This lovely example has been preserved in a small nodule and was discovered in 1999. The nodule is comprised of Siderite which is an iron compound. This pit has now been filled in and so these ancient fossils are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain thesedays. This fossil resided in the late professor GORDON WALKDEN collection. Approximately 325 million years old.Fossils Direct is a premium collectors website.
