This specimen is an exceptionally large Aptychus, which is part of the opening mouth of an ammonite. This particular specimen is from the geological department of the University of Sheffield as stated on the label that accompanies the specimen. A very fine and probably unrepeatable specimen. One for the specialist collector of ammonites. |
