description |
|
This wonderful highly ribbed ammonite has been preserved in solid calcite and has a pinpoint immaculate centre. The top of the ammonite exhibits magnificent suture patterns which is highly aesthetic. The ammonite lies in a really nice fossiliferous piece of matrix and has had many hours of preparation invested into it. There are also fragments of belemnites near the ammonite. No base has been cut on the matrix, as we feel it would spoil the aesthetics from its rustic natural shape. Discovered by David Sole and prepared by Andy Cowap. Approximately 167 million years old. This tremendous fossil will make a unique display item for either the home or indeed office space. Fossils Direct is a premium collectors website. |
