| description |
|
| This stunning display fossil was discovered circa 1995 by David Sole and fully prepared by Andy Cowap using traditional methods, no iron powder. There is also a sturdy display stand included with this fossil. There is also preserved 3 partial belemnites, a gastropod (Natica subelegans) and a beautiful bivalve shell (Plagiostoma cf subcardiiforme). Fossils of this quality rarely come on to the open market for sale, especially from this long lost locality. The ammonite at the top of the matrix has an immaculate centre, the one below has been rolling around on the sea floor and has had its centre knocked out, worm tubes have been preserved when they colonized the shell on the sea floor. All in all, a superb and one off fossil which is approximately 167 million years old. Fossils Direct is a premium collectors website. |
