description
The surface of this sandstone/siltstone is covered with trace fossils, which includes many starfish resting places and worm burrows, which have been filled in by fine grained material during fossilisation. This wonderfully preserved fossil will make an important addition for the discerning collector of extremely rare oolithic fossils from the UK. The specimen is approximately 166 million years old and was discovered in 1961. It has resided ever since in the late Professor GORDON WALKDEN collection. Fossils Direct is a premium collectors website.
