description |
|
This wonderfully preserved ammonite has a perfect centre unlike the vast majority which are crudely carved in. The ammonite lies in a stunning piece of aesthetic rock which has a cut base for upright display. Attached to the flat base is an anti slip and scratch pad for peace of mind when displaying on delicate surfaces. These large calcified ammonites from this famous fossil locality on England's jurassic coast are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain thesedays. This fine specimen resided in the late GORDON WALKDEN colletion and was discovered in 1992. This fossil is approximately 202 million years old. |
