| description |
|
| This wonderful example is virtually complete with only a few small patches of scales missing. Complete UK fish are very rare to find thesedays, especially around the county Durham area where heavy restrictions on collecting are in force. This specimen was collected in 1982. Platysomus is an extinct genus of ray-finned fish, which is approximately 275 million years old. This fine specimen resided in the late GORDON WALKDEN collection. One for the collector of rare English fossil fishes. |
