description |
|
This outstanding example is virtually complete and even has its root system which is incredibly rare with these fragile crinoids from this iconic silurian locality. This specimen was collected circa 1908 and was rescued from an old private museum which closed it's doors in 1974. It has resided ever since in the late GORDON WALKDEN collection. The rock surrounding the crinoid has been partially restored, we believe sometime during the 1960's, it does not affect the crinoid whatsoever. A wonderful specimen from a location lost in time. One for the discerning collector. |
