description |
|
Another superb highly polished ammonite with beautiful suture patterns and lovely colours throughout. This magnificent specimen has had many hours of preparation and lies in a generous piece of Oolithic matrix which has a cut base for ease of display. These fine solid calcite ammonites are becoming increasingly scarse, this one was collected during a temporary exposure during the winter of 1986. The "Cats Paws" have been revealed showing suture patterns. A collector or indeed an interior designer would benefit greatly from this stunning display ammonite. Approximately 172 million years old. |
