description |
|
Virtually every colour in the spectrum is displayed in these stunning natural irridescent ammonites. Collecting these beautiful ammonites is prohibited nowadays, this double specimen however was collected over thirty years ago and has been prepared by Andy Cowap. The colours in the ammonites are Greens, Yellows, Reds, Orange etc. The matrix has also had many hours of preparation which is just as important as the fossils themselves. Please be aware there are lots of composite fossils around for sale at the moment, ie. fossils which have either been stuck on or in a piece of matrix, the seller has a duty to tell the recipient this. This magnificent fossil has a cut matrix base for ease of display. Approximately 205 million years old. |
