description |
|
This absolutely magnificent display fossil has been initially cracked open to reveal one half full of ammonites and the negative half kept to make the nodule complete again after preparation. This superb display fossil was discovered and prepared by Andy Cowap. Ammonite-multi's from this famous locality are incredibly rare to find thesedays due to the lack of erosion. Many hours of painstaking work has gone into this fossil. It is rare to see fossil ammonite blocks from Skye on the open market for sale, especially ones of this calibre. A brilliant positive/negative nodule packed with calcite ammonites. One for the collector of fine fossils. Approximately 175 million years old. Size of nodule 192 x 104mm |
