description |
|
From this world famous and very elusive location comes this fantastic Marston Magna "popper".The specimen has been preserved as a limestone column which is encrusted with extremely fine "nail head" calcite, which indeed would attract the mineral collector. The column has been split and a layer of Marston Magna ammonites have been preserved. These consist of Asteroceras marstonensis and Promicroceras marstonense which still have their original white shell preserved. This is the first specimen of this type that has ever come onto the open market for sale and is a rare opportunity to acquire such a fine fossil/mineral specimen. The specimen is approximately 200 million years old and can be seen also in the "Showcase Fossils" section of our website, which has larger images to be viewed. |
