description |
|
An absolutely stunning ammonite! This specimen took many hours to prepare to keep on the shells flanges, the vast majority of these specimens are seen without this marvellous ornamentation, usually destroyed by inexperienced preparators! but to see a shell like this is very rare indeed. The very centre has been restored, but this does not distract from this stunning specimen. The piece has a cut base for ease of display. |
