description |
|
Many, Many hours of preparation have gone into this stunning ammonite by Andy Cowap. The specimen itself was collected from a temporary exposure in 1979. Prepared both side this solid calcite Normannites has an immaculate centre and magnificent lappets which are very rarely preserved on such a large specimen. Most of the ammonite's spines are also intact. This superb fossil is extremely sought after by serious collectors seeking the very pinacle of ammonites for their collections. This is one of the finest Normannites we have seen and prepared to this standard, you just don't see them on the open market for sale. A one-off world class ammonite. Fossils Direct are constantly striving to better collections around the globe. Approximately 170 million years old. |
