description |
|
This absolutely stunning Caloceras is one of the largest we have come across. It was collected in 1982 at low tide and has remained in the same collection ever since. Many hours have gone into re-preparing the ammonite and hard shale by Andy Cowap. When the ammonite is turned to the light, the irridescence really catches the eye, the colours include reds, greens, orange and yellow. The matrix has a flat base for ease of display. Whether in a top collection or a unique item for an interior designer, this fossil which is approximately 207 million years old, will make a dramatic statement. |
