description |
|
Again, this beautifully preserved multi-ammonite specimen from the Brown Layer is extremely rare from this iconic Liassic site which has kept hold of its Palaeontological treasures for over 200 years until a temporary exposure recently. All the ammonites have been preserved in yellow and brown calcite and have taken many hours to prepare from their hard matrix surroundings. Alongisde the small ammonites is a fragment of a very rare Xipheroceras and Trimodum. Serious collectors will appreciate how rare this fine multi-ammonite specimen is. A truly unique and one off piece which is approximately 200 million years old. |
