description |
|
A substantial and highly aesthetic fossil exhibiting a Xipheroceras planicosta and a Promicroceras planicosta, both preserved alongside a bizarre root-like structure with an attached branch. Wood and ammonites on the same piece of matrix are always highly sought after by collectors and are becoming increasingly scarce to find from this world famous fossil locality. The fossilised wood is from the ancient Monkey Puzzle tree and has superb detail and colouration throughout. Approximately 200 million years old. |
