description |
|
A stunning display piece from one of the world's most iconic fossil locations and the home of Palaeontology. Each open solid calcite chamber is packed with many thousands of tiny brown calcite crystals. The centre of the ammonite is absolutely immaculate and has wonderful and clear sutures. The base has been levelled for upright display. The specimen has been prepared by Andy Cowap and would make a spectacular statement by an interior designer! Specimens of this calibre are very rare to find thesedays from this stretch of beach where Mary Anning used to collect fossils some 200 years ago. The specimen is approximately 200 million years old. |
