description |
|
A virtually one off ammonite, apart from a few donated to Oxford University Museum in 2012. As this animal grows, it will lose its keel and flatten out with strong ribbing. The ammonite has been preserved within a larger ammonite's body chamber, it may have not been preserved otherwise. This is one of the rarest ammonites ever to be offered on Fossils Direct for sale, especially from an iconic Liassic locality such as Marston Magna. Approximately 200 million years old. One for the serious collector! |
