description |
|
This stunning example when held up to the light is virtually transparent and is a unique specimen. The ammonite has been ground gem smooth on both sides then a high polish applied to reveal amazing gold sutures and pale green calcite. Many hours of work has gone into this fantastic one off fossil. Not many Oxynoticeras polish up like this specimen, probably one of every 25. A true conversation fossil for the collector. Approximately 195 million years old. |
