description |
|
This stunning display ammonite has been preserved in solid calcite and has a very good centre. Alongside the main ammonite are three Belemnite Guards and a small well preserved ammonite (Bradfordia cf inclusa). Ammonites of this quality are becoming extremely difficult to obtain, most Stephanoceras we come across are imperfect in some way however, this is just superb. Many hours of preparation has gone into this wonderful fossil. Approximately 200 million years old. The matrix has a flat base for upright display and attached to it is an anti slip and scratch pad for peace of mind when displaying on furniture or glass. A real statement piece. |
