description |
|
Not only rare but visually stunning!! Many hours of preparation has gone into this ammonite by none other than Andy Cowap. Most of the fossil bearing localities around this area are no longer accessible to collectors, making these ammonites not only scarse but highly collected by serious collectors worldwide. The ammonite's centre both sides is immaculate, many spines are intact on one side and the aperture taken back to its suture, or the informal name of 'Cats Paws'. The matrix has a cut base for upright display. A totally unique one off fossil which has been signed and dated by Andy. This specimen was discovered in 1985. |
