description |
|
Fossils Direct have been supplying wonderful and aesthetic fossils for many years and to all parts of the globe. This particular specimen is one of the finest we have had to offer from Scunthorpe. Scunthorpe ammonites are highly sought after because the ammonites are just so beautiful and very aesthetic! This large specimen is preserved on a lovely block of ironstone and has had its shell painstakingly removed by grinding and then a high professional polish applied to the calcite thus revealing beautiful sutures and various shades of calcite ranging from white to pink. The specimen has a very good centre which is also rare. A truly magnificent statement piece and a "must" for any ammonite collector or indeed someone looking for something naturally beautiful. |
