description
Phylloceras are incredibly scarse from this famous liassic locality. This wonderful specimen was discovered in 1992. Most of the fossil bearing locations around this area are no longer accessible to collectors which will make these awesome ammonites incredibly rare in the future to collect. Many painstaking hours of preparation by Andy Cowap have elevated this Phylloceras into a complete one off collectors piece. The ammonite itself has been preserved in solid calcite and has all the sutures prepared out both sides, or the popular name for this is exposing the "Cats Paws". Any world class collection would benefit from this spectacular fossil. Approximately 180 million years old.
