| description |
|
| This magnificent specimen has been preserved within a large ammonite body chamber (Asteroceras Stellare), which during fossilisation protected the ammonite's delicate spines. The specimen was discovered in 1984 and has remained unprepared until now. Alongside the Xipheroceras lies an ammonite which we have never come across before, this too has small spines on its reverse side, maybe a juvenile Asteroceras. One for the discerning collector, prepared by Andy Cowap. |
