| description |
|
| This specimen was one of only four Angulaticeras known from Marston Magna's lower lias formation. Two specimens from the Andy Cowap collection were donated to Oxford University Museum so a paper could be written about them and the other two remain in Andy's collection this being one of them. Preserved on the pos/neg piece are many promicroceras planicosta's and an asteroceras Blakei. This Angulaticeras is one of the rarest lower liassic ammonites we have ever had for sale at Fossils Direct and an absolute "must" for the serious collector of extremely rare ammonites. A one off piece, approximately 200 million years old. |
