This stunning ammonite measures a huge 8 inches across and is totally complete and with a pinpoint, immaculate centre. The ammonite was discovered in 1998 amongst the boulders at the base of Black Ven in a small sea worn nodule Many hours of preparation have gone into this magnificent fossil. The ammonite has been preserved in various shades of brown calcite and is attached to a chunky piece of matrix which also has a cut base for upright display. Asteroceras of this quality and size are extremely rare to obtain thesedays. Approximately 200 million years old. One for the interior designer or discerning collector. |
