description |
|
This specimen was collected in the 1970's by Peter Langham and was on display in the "Dinosaur Land" Museum,Lyme Regis. We purchased this specimen when the museum changed hands and it has been in the same collection ever since. The specimen consists of a complete calcified, very large, Xipheroceras, preserved to its mouth border and to add to its overall aesthetics is a piece of Monkey Puzzle wood and a small scattering of Promicroceras planicosta. Specimens of this size and quality are very rarely found and are highly sought after amongst the elite collectors. An extremely desirable piece that would grace any "top end" collection. Approximately 200 million years old. |
