description |
|
This incredibly rare but highly aesthetic ammonite has been fully prepared, then highly polished. The ammonite's sutures magnificent. The specimen itself was discovered in a loose block in 1989 and has remained in the same collection ever since. Fossils from this world famous locality are virtually none existent to find thesedays due in part to little erosion and over collecting by universities, schools and private individuals. This wonderful ammonite has been prepared both sides and is a real one off fossil from these shores. It would fit into any top collection. Approximately 175 million years old. |
