description |
|
This small crustacea is found in nearly every freshwater habitat. This little but exceptionally preserved beauty is from the black non-marine oil shales of the carboniferous. Copepod meaning "oar feet" are very important in the food chain as many animals eat them. This is an exceptionally rare fossil and was purchased back in the early 1980's. |
