description |
|
This stunning piece of crinoid was unearthed in 1987 during the famous hurricane that lashed the south coast and most of southern Britain. Display pieces of such high quality are very rare indeed. The detail shows a head fanning out with stems and hundreds of cirri attached. The specimen is attached to a solid lump of 'Beefstone' which gives it very good stability. This piece of crinoid would grace any collection worldwide and has been with Andy for over twenty years Approximately 200 millionyears old. One for the serious collector of very fine fossils. |
