description |
|
This exceptionally rare example of Sinocrinus from St. Audries Watchet, once hung in a private fossil museum until recently. We think its from the Planorbis Zone as there is an fragment of what appears to be Caloceras Johnstoni amongst the Arms. The overall detail is superb throughout the Crinoid. Collectors of rare crinoids will appreciate how rare this specimen is from this world famous lower lais locality. The box in which the crinoid sits measures 387mmx254mmx33mm. This magnificent specimen is approximately 206 million years old and would grace any collection of fossil crinoids. A one-off. |
