What a stunning specimen this is!! Serious collectors of UK chalk fossils will really appreciate this marvellous crinoid. The specimen itsself was discovered in 1969 from a locality long since gone. Each interlocking plate which goes into making up the cup has wonderful detail. This particular specimen is much larger than most of the other marsupites we have seen and this is right up there with the very finest!! This specimen would make a serious statement in any world class crinoid collection. These crinoids from the chalk are usually the odd plate or just partials and even they are rare, but to get a virtually complete one is incredibly rare and highly sought after. |
