description |
|
This is the first nautilus we have come across preserved in the Humorkey Limestone which is situated in the cliffs at Charmouth. Any nautilus from the lower lias of the Lyme Regis/Charmouth area are extremely rare and this one is no exception. The nautilus lies in a generous piece of Limestone. Approximately 200 million years old. |
