description |
|
An exceptionally rare fern frond from the shores of Skye discovered over twenty years ago. Very few of these ferns exist from Skye especially ones of this quality and completeness. Any floral fauna is extremely rare from this world famous locality. The detail on the fronds is fantastic under magnification. These ferns are sometimes discovered in the Upper Lias of the Yorkshire coast. This kind of fern is now extinct. Approximately 175 million years old. One for the serious collector of one-off fossils. |
