| description |
|
| An amazing example of this cretaceous sponge, such specimens of this compeleteness are incredibly rare to find. This particular type of sponge is a genus of extinct hallirhoid demosponges of the Upper Cretaceous period. Their common name is 'tulip sponges' hence their shape. A superb and rare addition to any fossil collection. Discovered in 1969. |
