description |
|
This specimen was collected many years ago from the world famous slate mine in Delabole, Cornwall. This mine/quarry has been producing high quality slate for over one thousand years. Very occasionally, when the slate is split, these classic British bivalves are discovered. You can see where the name Delabole Butterfly comes from, as they do slightly resemble a butterfly. These are highly sought after and extremely rare. One for the serious collector of classic UK fossils. |
