description |
|
This superb display Brittlestar was discovered after a storm lashed the Jurassic coastline during the winter of 2004 and brought fossil bearing rocks from the cliffs onto the beach. Only the tip of one of its arms was visible and so many hours of preparation work was carried out by Andy Cowap to reveal this magnificent fossil. Brittlestars are becoming very rare from this world famous fossil locality. An anti-scratch and slip pad has been attached to a level matrix base for peace of mind when displaying on a polished surface. Approximately 190 million years old. |
