description |
|
This extraordinary Ichthyosaur vertebra was shown to the Natural History Museum in London and they said that the pathology was "remarkable". The vertebra has four rib facets on each side when there are only supposed to be two! and one side of the vertebra has a "weird" growth on it, usually associated with chronic disease/sickness. The detail throughout the bone is immaculate and every blood vessel channel has been prepared painstakingly by Andy Cowap. A complete unique, one-off fossil which is approximately 155 million years old. One for the serious collector of world class fossils. |
