Unfortunately now quarrying has now ceased and these are only to be found in collections. This particular specimen shows the classic metamorphic distortion which is produced by the rocks being moved over time. This is more or less a perfect example and is preserved on a hand sized piece of slate, making this a very tactile piece. This specimen was collected in 1990 and was from the late John Harty collection. The specimen was collected in 1990 and was part of the late John Harty collection which was disbanded. The specimen contains at least three trilobites of the same species, indeed the species itself is very rare. One for the serious collector.
