  This partial ammonite whorl is packed with wonderfully preserved 'Nail Head' calcite crystals, the light refracts beautifully through the large crystal. This specimen was unearthed by the late John Huxtable from a temporary exposure in 1984. Exceptionally rare to get these calcite growths in this rare oolithic ammonite chamber. Approximately 170 million years old. Fossils Direct is a premium collectors website.

  This beautifully preserved fossil was discovered during a temporary exposure in 2008, the colours throughout are highly aesthetic. The ammonites still retain some of their original shell, preserved as a nacre film. A really nice drawer fossi8l which is approximately 200 million years old.
