  This partial ammonite whorl is packed with wonderfully preserved 'Nail Head' calcite crystals, the light refracts beautifully through the large crystal. This specimen was unearthed by the late John Huxtable from a temporary exposure in 1984. Exceptionally rare to get these calcite growths in this rare oolithic ammonite chamber.   This beautifully preserved fossil was discovered during a temporary exposure in 2008, the colours throughout are highly aesthetic. The ammonites still retain some of their original shell, preserved as a nacre film. A really nice drawer fossi8l which is approximately 200 million years old.   This marvellous specimen has been fully prepared and has an immaculate pin point centre. The ammonite has been preserved in calcite and has wonderful pathology, the shell, especially on the living chamber is buckled and twisted whilst the animal's shell grew, such an interesting feature. The ammonite is approximately 166 million years old and has been prepared by Andy Cowap. The ammonite resided in the late professor GORDON WALKDEN collection.
