  This amazing Kosmoceras was discovered in 1981 from a locality which has sadly been lost to time. The ammonite has magnificent nodes and 'Cats Paws' preserved. Highly aesthetic ammonites from this location rarely come up for sale on the open market thesedays. One for the discerning collector. A beautiful little display case is included with this rare Oxfordian ammonite. Approximately 165 million years old. Fossils Direct is a premium collectors website.

  This exceptionally rare Gault Clay ammonite has been preserved in solid iron pyrite and has a lovely centre. As we are aware, only a dozen or so of this type of ammonite has ever been documented. It was discovered in 1973 and made up part of the Underhill collection. One for the serious collector of incredibly rare Gault Clay material. The ammonite comes in a lovely display transparent case.   This very nice example has been preserved in solid pyrite and was collected in 1982 and was part of the Underhill collection. This particular locality is no longer accessible to the collector. This rare type of Kosmoceras has lovely sharp nodes preserved, a very aesthetic feature. One for the discerning collector. Approximately 165 million years old.
