| First described by Spath in 1925, this highly aesthetic Gault ammonite is perfect on both sides and has a pinpoint immaculate centre. The shell also ha wonderful natural irridescence which the colours include reds, greens, pink and the odd flash of yellow. The shell also displays a perfect suture termination or (Cat's Paw). Ammonites of this quality are difficult to obtain thesedays from this locality. This specimen is approximately 108 million years old and was discovered circa 1974, it formed part of the Underhill Gault Clay collection. Fossils Direct is a premium collectors website. |
