description |
|
A superb display ammonite prepared by Andy Cowap. Fossils of this calibre take many hours of preparation. The ammonite itself is highly ribbed and lies in a generous piece of matrix. There is also a belemnite rostrum (passaloteuthis paxillosus 50mm) which has been washed up next to the ammonite shell. Fossils of this quality are highly sought after throughout the world. The matrix has a cut base for ease of display. Approximately 167 million years old. Becoming very rare from this locality.
