description |
|
This stunning example was discovered in 1987 and has remained in the same collection ever since. The ammonite has an immaculate centre and wonderful detail throughout. Collecting from this world famous locality has been prohibited for a number of years now. This particular type of ammonite from this location is exceptionally rare. The specimen itself lies in a highly aesthetic piece of matrix which has been fully prepared. Quality fossils from this location are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain thesedays. One for the discerning collector of fine and rare UK ammonites. Approximately 175 million years old. |
