| description |
|
| This marvellous example of extreme pathology in an ammonite is due to a parasitic worm that attaches itself t6o the ammonite shell whilst growing. There are also three normal Promicroceras on the same matrix for comparison. A very rare and wonderful fossil for the serious collector of fine fossils. This fossil was collected in 1979 and has remained in the same collection ever since. All the ammonites have been fully prepared, the stone naturally sits upright for display. Approximately 200 million years old. Fosils Direct is a premium collectors website. |
