| description |
|
| This wonderfully preserved nautilus has been prepared on both sides and left on a small piece of matrix which has a flat base for upright display. When a light source is present at the back of the nautilus, it glows! Highly aesthetic, this 170 million year old fossil has taken many hours to prepare by Andy Cowap. The specimen was discovered during temporary excavations in 1978/88 all by hand. The locality is now a densely wooded area. The late John Huxtable was the finder and have remained unprepared until recently. One for the discerning collector of rare fossils from long los localities. |
